Weather is crazy in Florence

Last Saturday I was lying on my garden's grass trying to get some brown tan on my skin, since it was very warm (25 degrees). The day after, was raining and very cold! (13°).
It's crazy. One day you could go out with your flip-flop, next day you have to take your umbrella and a wool sweater.
I hope weather will be better, I would like to go and visit the Artcraft fair at Fortezza da Basso. Some friends of mine, owners of a lovely Bed and breakfast in Florence, went there. you can some pictures here.

What's on in Florence on April, 25th

What to do on April 25th, 2009 (Bank holiday)
Things to do on April 25th:
- Florence tango festival at Saschall
- Artcraft fair at Fortezza da Basso
- Flowers fair at the Orticoltura garden. The entrance is free and it worth! (here you can see a picture of the garden)
If you want, instead, to spend a day outside Florence I suggest the antique fair in Impruneta and the gastronomic fair in Fucecchio.
Summer in Florence: do you have some ideas?
You have exactly ten days to submit your ideas about the Florentine summer 2009. By April 28th at 12pm you can submit them in Via Ghibellina. Unfortunately there is only a budget of € 120,000, but if you want to share your ideas you are more than welcome to propose them.

There is a similar thing also in Greve in Chianti at 12pm on Sunday instead in Panzano on April 14th at 6pm, the flight of the columbine and the explosion of the cart. An as usual for pasquetta (Easter Monday), there is the antique market in Greve in Chianti.

Easter week end sailing to Elba and Capraia Island

I knew about the touristic port of Rosignano-Castiglioncello, called Cala de’ Medici, trough a friend of mine: a very charming port in one of the most characteristic sea side resort of Tuscany. But especially I knew about the possibility to organize fantastic and relaxing week end thanks to Toscana charter, a broker whose owner is simply the director of the port.
The first week end is the Easter week end where many sailing boats sailing in flotilla will go to Elba and Capraia Island. The departure is from Rosignano port on Friday, April 10 at 6pm and return to the port on Monday, April 13th in the evening.
The cost is between € 300-400 depending on the boat you choose to go (big one or medium one). Food, gasoline and some port fees could be extra even if they are all costs shared with the people on the boat.
If you are interested you can contact Maurizio Villani at 335 8018954 or simply sending an email to: info@toscanacharter.it
To see some images about the port or about the broker you can check to www.toscanacharter.it
Other week end will be organized throughout the summer just check back this blog, regularly.

Beach weddings

Tuscany is not only art, culture, Florence and Siena but much more. If you want to get married in the cooler months of summer you can certainly choose Forte dei Marmi for your beach wedding. The location I chose is a five star resort overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and a long sandy beach that will be the perfect location for a beach ceremony (but catholic ceremony). The cocktail will be served under a cool patio between the beach and the hotel. Dinners or lunches in the five star terrace of the hotel. Weddings here are available in May, June, September and October.
Forte dei Marmi is a known area of the Versilia coast: you and your guests can spend a fantastic vacation here because there are so many things to do for both adults and children. Boat trips to Cinque Terre, the marble quarries of Carrara, the Carnival village in Viareggio, wine and olive oil tastings and Lucca will be only a part of the various activities that we can organize.
For catholic weddings various churches in town or in the surrounding areas will be available for you under request.
