Danza in Fiera

The third edition of the greatest international event dedicated to dance is expecting you into the Fortezza da Basso of Florence.

New areas hosting more events, more lessons, more shows, more Companies and exhibitive places, more celebrities, famous dance companies and for the first time the main Italian theatres. Danza in Fiera 2008 trumps itself like an extraordinary mix of dance, magic, passion, energy, music and lights: those of more than seven stages, those of the last fashion creations; those of thousand smiles of kids and young people for which Danza in Fiera is first of all fun, as well as the mirror of passion of own life.

Next February you'll have an excuse to undress the everyday clothes of and put on your ballet shoes, and to follow your heart. Inscription are opened for the international competition Expression 2008 by IDA (INTERNATIONAL DANCE COMPETITION) with many guests and an increasingly prestigious jury.

A third edition rich of lessons of every dance style with teachers of highest level, and for the first time in Danza in Fiera will be the most important Italian Theatre.

Energy and talent, grace and harmony, depth and lightness of expression: for insight into the multi-faceted world of dance it is important that exhibitors and schools’ displays be accompanied by an extensive program of a wide variety of events. There shall, in fact, be over 500 events ranging from traditional to contemporary dance exhibitions, performances by dance schools, associations and companies, dance competitions, dancewear and costume displays and shows, and meetings with prominent figures from the dance and arts world.
A wide and varied program assured to meet the requirements and expectations of both specialists and the general public.

How to reach the fair:
By car: An excellent highway network connects Florence to the rest of Italy and Europe .Danza in Fiera is just 4 km from the main Italian Autostrada (A1- Autostrada del Sole - Firenze Nord exit).There are three ample parking facilities in the vicinity of the Fortezza da Basso:- Fortezza da Basso - spaces for 521 cars and 110 scooters - Santa Maria Novella - Piazza della Stazione - over 600 spaces for cars - Parterre - Piazza della Libertà - over 650 spaces for cars

By train: There are 5 railroad stations in Florence. The nearest is Santa Maria Novella (5 minutes by foot)

By plane: The Firenze Amerigo Vespucci Airport (serving major European cities) is 4 km from the city center which can be reached by:
- taxi (20 minutes).
- shuttle bus to and from the Vespucci airport and the Santa Maria Novella Railroad Station, operated by ATAF and SITA.

Public Trasportation

City Routes: All public transport stops at Piazza Stazione. Danza in Fiera (located 250 meters from Piazza Stazione) can be reached via all buses operating in Florence.

Intercity Routes: Florence is the terminal for Cap, Lazzi and Sita regional bus operators that offer excellent connections between the city and its surroundings.
